Carle Place Receives Golden Football


In honor of the Super Bowl 50, Carle Place School District received a golden football from the National Football League. The district received the commemorative ball as a symbol of recognition from the NFL for retired New York Jets player Matt Snell, who graduated from the district and was part of Super Bowl III. During his time in Carle Place, Snell earned the Newsday’s Thorp Award in 1959 and was named an outstanding football player in Nassau County.
